This special workshop intends to discuss, in parallel, proposals for lines of continuity and for solutions of continuity between the modern legacies of the comprehension of human rights and their respective late-modern and post-modern projections, namely the confrontation between macroscopically uniform and microscopically identitarian approaches – both setting their origins in the ideas of human dignity and human rights. As if, in a critical reflexivity-retrospectivity, with individuality surpassing personality, the cultural construction which generates intersubjectivity, in general, and juridicity, in particular, could be glimpsed in the reflection of macroscopically determined movements of pulverization… And as if, in (a compensatory…) counterpoint, communally densifying aggregations were (re)raised, though… microscopically substantialized. In this context, it is intended to reflect on the progressively verified atomization of social relations and the respective self-perception and hetero-figuration of the respective subjects – above all as expressed from historically and culturally contextualized references, for example, regarding gender issues, race, or religion. And, finally, reflecting on the meaning and place of law in the intersection of difference within the (de)construction of juridical intersubjectivity.
We welcome abstract proposals for paper presentations by 15 March 2026; final papers (for possible publication) should be submitted by 30 November 2026.
Thank you!
