Prof. Dr Oktay Uygun Lecturer, Faculty of Law, Yeditepe University. Prof. Dr Oktay Uygun was born in Trabzon in 1963. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Istanbul University in 1985. He began working as a ‘Research Assistant’ in the Department of General Public Law at the Faculty from which he graduated in 1986. He obtained his Master’s degree in Public Law from the same university in 1987 and his PhD in 1991. He was appointed Assistant Professor in 1992. In the same year, he spent six months at McGill University (Montreal, Canada) to conduct research on the federal state system as part of his Associate Professorship thesis. He became an Associate Professor in 1995. In 2005, he was appointed Professor in the Department of General Public Law. In 2012, he retired from the Faculty of Law at Istanbul University and began working as a full-time academic staff member at the Faculty of Law at Yeditepe University. He currently teaches the course on the Philosophy and Sociology of Law at the Faculty of Law at Yeditepe University.
Prof. Dr. Oktay Uygun Yeditepe Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi Öğretim Üyesi Prof. Dr. Oktay UYGUN 1963’te Trabzon’da doğdu. 1985’te İstanbul Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi’ni bitirdi. Mezun olduğu Fakültenin Genel Kamu Hukuku Anabilim Dalında 1986’da “Araştırma Görevlisi” olarak çalışmaya başladı. Aynı üniversiteden Kamu Hukuku alanında 1987’de Yüksek Lisans; 1991’de Doktoraderecelerini aldı. 1992’de Yardımcı Doçentliğe atandı. Aynı yıl Doçentlik tezi çalışması olan federal devlet sistemini araştırmak için altı ay süreyle McGill Üniversitesi’nde (Montreal, Kanada) bulundu. 1995’te Doçent oldu. 2005’te Genel Kamu Hukuku Anabilim Dalında Profesörlüğe atandı.2012 yılında İstanbul Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi’nden emekli oldu ve Yeditepe Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi’nde tam zamanlı öğretim üyesi olarak çalışmaya başladı. Halen Yeditepe Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi’nde Hukuk Felsefesi ve Sosyolojisi dersini vermektedir.
